Why you stay stuck 2

The weapons that we use to fight the things of this world, as well as to keep us prisoners are found and forged in our minds. This is the trap that keeps us bound; this endless loop of useless information. When we lock ourselves in this prison, we are not free to think clearly, love deeply or to work towards transformation. And... that is what we are after, transformation of our minds and our hearts. Isn't it?

2nd Corinthians tells us that our weapons have divine power...

["For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ...2 Corinthians 10:3-5](KJV)

The Greek word used here is dounimas, translated into our word dynamite. Our thoughts are like dynamite!

We have the power to demolish strongholds. Stronghold is from the Greek word acamora, meaning a prisoner, meaning a prisoner locked in by deception.

People, we run the risk of not becoming what was intended because we are locked in a prison of lies and deceptions; often of our own making and design.

The scripture tells us to take captive every thought, and make it obedient to Christ. And, we must carefully guard our minds. At some point, in order to move forward, break out of the same old prison, release ourselves and the oyther people we hold there with us, we must stop playing those same old tunes. Those same sad songs and lie that we tell ourselves are simply not true any more...unless we want them to be.

Want? Yes, want. Be honest. Sometimes its comforting to have a pity party, and sometimes it feels good to grab attention for how suck-y are lives have been; how the fates have surely conspired against us. But one day we must choose to get up and get on, or we choose to stay and wallow in the mire of yesteryear.

It is a choice!

The battle in the spirit world can be won or lost in our minds. We have a choice. We must make conscious choices. Isn't it interesting how we so easily wander, slide or fall into our favorite sin or favorite ancient coping mechanism, unconsciously? Choosing to leave our thinking minds behind and just reacting and following our baser nature.

We must make the conscious choice to reject what is harmful and errant, and embrace what is true.

This is a a two-step process. Simply putting aside that which is painful leaves a void, a vacuum which will be filled ultimately with the same old garbage, if we don’t substitute or bring in with something else.

Once we have put-aside, we must embrace what is true;  what we know and can see to be true, and what God Word says is true.

Aren't you tired of the same old, same old? But, we can't do this alone. It requires God's help, and help from those who love and care for us.

Jeremiah 12:3 says, God I want YOU to test my thoughts, and set the bad ones apart, and destroy them!

[But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter. Jeremiah 12:3] (KJV)

What things or thoughts do you need to start thinking about setting aside?

What one story do you need to stop telling yourself, and others?
